Like I tell clients “I want to lose weight and tone up” WILL NOT motivate you to get out of bed at 5am.
But “I’m going to lose 12 pounds by May 30th and be a good role model for my kids” will get you going.
Study after study has shown the power of writing your goals down.
According to a recent study from Dominican University.
– The positive effect of written goals was supported: Those who wrote their goals accomplished significantly more than those who did not write their goals.
In fact those with written goals were twice as likely to achieve their goal compared to those who did not write their goals down.
Double the results.
The direct proven relationships between writing your goals down and achieving them is too good to ignore.
You can get started with 3 simple questions.
These are the same 3 questions I ask people applying for our programs.
1) What’s your current weight? What’s your goal weight?
If you don’t know your current weight, get on the scale! The scale is a way to measure, and you can’t improve what you can’t measure.
If you don’t know your goal weight, tell me your happy weight. what do you feel best at?
ex. “I weigh 180 and I feel best at 140”
2) What size clothes are you currently in. What size would you like to be in?
ex. “I’m in a size 12/14 and I feel best when I’m in an 8”
Guys you can use your pants waist size to gauge progress.
3)If you look in the mirror what would you like to see different?
Ex. “I want a flat stomach. drop the muffin top, lifted bottom, leaner and toned arms and legs.”
3 Questions and 3 goals that give you some clarity to what you want to accomplish.
