I love the food journal. We’ve used a simple written journal in our program for the last 5 years.
About 2 years ago I started hearing about the phone apps that allowed you to track your food. I have one simple rule -if it’s new I don’t trust it.
Now I’ve had enough clients who have used the apps and gotten great results. I’m comfortable recommending them for fat loss-because they’ve been proven to work.

This is the app that made me a believer. This app allows you to create a daily calorie budget and monitor your food and physical activity. You can email your daily intake to your coach or download and print it. Very fast and simple set up.

My Fitness Pal-
Not as hand on familiar with this one-but, I’ve has clients successfully transitioning to this from our written journal.
This iPhone and Android app helps you set your daily calorie goals, record your food and physical activity. It works together with MyFitnessPal.com account, where you can log you food and exercises.
The database for foods is insanely large. Over a million foods and restaurant choices.

Weight Watchers-
I love weight watchers. especially since they changed their system last January. Allowing for fruits and vegetables to be “0” points. This makes sense and because all calories are NOT equal. Now you’re encouraged and rewarded for eating real food(apple) and avoiding processed junk(100 calorie snack packs).
They have a super supportive community, and you’ll never run out of recipes.
