Fort Worth Personal Trainers: Monday Quick Tip Out of Sight Out of Mind (VIDEO)
One of the BIGGEST concerns for my clients right now is…
“How do I stay on track with SO MUCH temptation all around me?!?!?!?”
First you don’t have to be perfect and you’re setting yourself up for failure if you think you need to be.
You just need to be able to make it EASY to make GOOD choices.
And HARD to make BAD choices.
I actually want to make it easier on you to stay on track.
And a key component of staying on track is managing your environment.
So the first thing you’re going to do is get remove or at least hide those foods that aren’t good for you so you can either NOT see them at least and at best can’t get to them easily.
Dump it in the trash, give it away, put it way back in the back of the pantry where you actually have to get on a stool to reach it to get it.
The absolute best practice is sure have those foods in the house for the party or when you have guests.
Otherwise NOT in the house or office.
If the tempting foods are not even available TO eat.
It makes it a hell of a lot harder to screw up.
Out of sight out of mind.
Recent research showed that children and families given greater access to fruits and vegetables weighed less, while children and families who snack food visible and available weighed more than average.
“Higher availability, accessibility, and parental modelling were associated with higher consumption of fruit and vegetables in children.
Availability and Accessibility were the best predictors, but Parental Modelling significantly enhanced prediction over the other variables.”
Rachel Goldman lead researcher.
What food you can see and have easy access too is the biggest factor to what you can put in your mouth.
So today make it your mission to make it HARD to gain weight, and EASY to lose it.
Getting those tempting junk foods out of your house and office is the first step.
And getting healthy choices…(fruits, vegetables, nuts, protein bars, meal replacement shakes)out, visible, and readily available will go a LONG way toward keeping you ON track.
Talk soon.
