Write down everything that passes your lips. If you aren’t doing this yet start now. Do it.
Don’t count calories. Don’t worry about the macro-nutrients and all that other crap. Just write it down. I dare you.
Using a food journal can double your weight loss. Double! How? Because your eating more than you think you are. And when you write it down you’ll make better choices.
You’ll become more Aware. And this one little thing will start to move you in the right direction.
Remember You can’t out-exercise a bad diet.
And you can’t guess your diet.
Here are some tips for doing it right:
- Write down what you eat and how much. Get an idea of how much food is a portion. Avoid estimating portion sizes as much as possible- underestimating portions is an easy way to overeat.
- Write down when and where . Write the time of day, and where you got your food. It’s hard(but not impossible) to lose weight eating out often.
- Write down EVERYTHING that passes your lips. Log beverages, and write down those little bites and nibbles and handfuls of food. Those can add up to hundreds of extra calories a day. Snacking adds up.
This is as effective as it is simple. Very simple and Very effective.
